“I chose this image because, despite the lessons my generation and those that followed were taught about Hitler in our schools and homes, our nation has seen a revitalization of Neo-Nazi groups who terrorize communities all over the country. When I look at this image, I don't just see one horrific human being - I see those who have emulated his politics of pain, death and division.”

“The picture is so powerful and impactful to me. The female face along with the short phrase encapsulates the pain, suffer, struggle in such an effective expressive way.”

“I chose this image because I want to try something more advanced than my wolf. I want to finish it by Poppy Day to honour the army that walked before us.”

“The scroll on this image reminds me of my very first cross stitch; there was a small scroll in the bottom corner where you could stitch your initials (using the provided alphabet stitch). I was full to busting, so proud of myself, when I finished the cross stitch and could initial that scroll! This certainly was the first time that I can remember feeling a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment; I think it was the defining moment that encouraged my exploration of textiles and handwork.”

“I am interested in issues related to injustices done to the indigenous FNs. During a discussion on the issue of permission vs appropriation, I felt an answer was insufficient. However, I have an open mind and feel the only authentic way to make my view known / take part in such a discussion is to participate in the project.”
